Writing

Writing academically is fundamental to Tim’s creative practice. The sample essays are first attempts at organising ideas that relate philosophical debate in Photography and mirror his interests in traditional and contemporary photographic methodology and theory. Recurring themes relate to the mechanical nature of photography, authorship, creativity, the photographic index, visual truth and materiality. His creative writing is interwoven with his photographic realisation in the project ‘The Six Ages of E Boydell’ within the prototype publication of same title.
